John Bradley has joined FlexEJ for a year as our latest YINI student. The YINI scheme, for those who don’t know it, supports the training of young engineers by offering salaried placements within suitable companies, giving students a chance to practice what they’ve been taught as well as gain hands-on experience. Mid-way through his Aviation Engineering degree at Brunel University, as John says : “It’s a chance to put into practice the sort of thing I’ve been learning at college, I’m looking forward to it.” For FlexEJ, it’s a valuable opportunity to get some essential background engineering completed when the permanent team is busy on immediate customer projects.
We’ve got John straight down to work designing a jig which will be a valuable addition to an area within our internal manufacturing process. Once this is completed, we hope to get him involved with our product development team. For John, FlexEJ’s specialist areas of expansion joints and pressure vessels are new departures; his previous work experience has been in agricultural engineering and also as a surveyor’s assistant. He’s also a keen trumpeter and is financing his way through flying lessons.
We wish John every success and hope he enjoys the year with us. FlexEJ is pleased to support the valuable opportunities that YINI offers it successful candidates, helping to bring on the next generation of engineers.
