Samuel Zubair and Alex Dobner have joined us for the year as FlexEJ continues its commitment to supporting the YINI scheme – an opportunity for Degree students of STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) to win paid placements in reputable engineering companies; students enhance their studies with professional work experience.
We’ve put them straight to work. Sam is driving a review of our welding processes to identify any cost-savings we can make. And we have plans for expanding our factory space so he’s working on possible layout plans for this. Alex meanwhile is developing a range of new fabrication jigs for a major customer and developing parametric programmes on SolidWorks, helping customers to visualise the product during the design process
As a Company within the YINI scheme, FlexEJ is vetted and approved; we have to offer genuine professional engineering experience and realistic payment. In return, we value the opportunity to tap into new talent – the work our students have done on a variety of support projects has proved invaluable over the years helping us to expand and move it forward.
Sam and Alex are both from the University of the West of England; Alex has just finished his 2nd year studying Mechanical Engineering, Sam is mid-way through his Degree in Aerospace Engineering.
They have already integrated very successfully into the team; looks like it’s going to be a good year for all sides. We wish them all the best.
