FlexEJ History

FlexEJ Ltd was formed in 2002 by two professional engineers who brought together an already highly respected design capability with business and commercial skills gained in large multinational companies. The combination of specialist knowledge and excellent customer service were drivers from the outset and remain core values today.

The initial trading business for rubber bellows was very soon complemented by a full metal bellows design and build service as customers sought our engineering expertise in expansion joint design and pressure fabrication.

To cater for the growing manufacturing requirement we acquired a pressure vessels business – MMPI Ltd – based in Essex and in 2007 we opened at our current facility in Stourbridge. The MMPI operation quickly out-grew its premises in Essex and in 2008 was moved to Stourbridge and subsequently into expanded shared premises on the same site as FlexEJ.

In 2016 Safetech joined our group, they specialise in rubber expansion joint manufacture at their facility near Bilbao in Spain.

FlexEJ has grown through offering innovative, competitive design solutions, high quality manufacturing and a willingness to engage with our customers’ needs including complex documentation and certification. We have a wide and diverse customer base in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Far East which includes leading companies such as EDF, Exxon, Shell, FW, Technip and JGC.

FlexEJ’s business today comprises three closely related activities serving the industrial, refining, petrochemical, power, marine and HVAC markets. FlexEJ manufactures in the UK and exports worldwide.
